Chawan Cups

This handmade matcha chawan cup is created in collaboration with Admaru Ceramics, a Czech ceramic studio known for its slow, intentional craftsmanship.

Each cup is hand-thrown and glazed by hand, making every piece truly unique.

Inspired by the classic Japanese chawan shape, the cup features a wider body that gently narrows toward the base, finished with a small rounded foot. It feels stable in the hands while maintaining an elegant, balanced form.

The ceramic has a soft matte, natural texture with subtle irregularities that highlight its handcrafted character.

The neutral beige-grey tone, reminiscent of natural clay or stone, gives the cup a clean, minimalist look suitable for both traditional and modern interiors.

The rim is accentuated with a blue brushstroke, adding contrast and a fresh, contemporary touch. On the front, the word “matcha” is written in a small, rounded font in the same blue tone — a subtle branding detail that remains decorative and understated.

The interior glaze is smooth, making it ideal for whisking matcha with a bamboo chasen, whether you’re preparing ceremonial matcha or a creamy matcha latte.
